Cordial relations between Nepal and China

The great leader of China, Mao Ze Dong, made his country recognized by the rest of the world fighting against imperial powers. Modifying (improving) the same policy, another leader Deng Xiaoping brought changes in Chinese communism. Even after the death of Deng Xiaoping, his Chinese policy was continued and China emerged as a global power. China, not only in the field of trade and business, was able to develop science, multilateral natural and cultural development. Adopting the path of open policy, China has stood against imperialism in the globe.China provided cooperation to Nepal in many sectors, such as construction of the Araniko Highway, Prithvi Highway, Ringroad, Kathmandu-Bhaktapur highway and others. Establishment of the Trolley Bus, Basbanry Tannery Industry, Harisiddhi Brick industry, Sunkoshi Hydropower Project, store houses in Kathamndu and Birgunj, Bhaktapur Brick Industry, Narayanghat-Gorkha road, Hetauda Textiles among others. Unlike India, China neither humiliated nor black-mailed Nepal. After 1990, sadly as the Nepali Congress formed the government, Girija Prasad Koirala, the then prime minister, disposed off China gifted such industries at the cheapest price. This all happened under the instruction of India. Besides, the then PM Koirala is responsible in spoiling other industries as well which contributed unemployment problem in Nepal. Because of such pro-Indian leaders in Nepal, the country is suffering. Still we are hopeful for the continued cooperation of China. The urgent need of the hour is to increase cooperation in trade and transport between China and Nepal. This can be facilitated by constructing a mountainous highway in Nepal from Taplejung to Darchula through Ramechhap and the upper regions of Pokhara and Kalikot. The widening network of Chinese railways can also be valuably utilized in this context as well. China should have liberal thought in order to enhance its trade and even to exhibit its existence in the region through its railways system. China should expand the railways to south Asian countries including Nepal and also to Europe. If so, China will teach a lesson to the so called imperialistic powers. And furthermore, it will give a strong message that China is friendly to the peace loving countries of the world. This great contribution of China will contribute in connecting South Asian countries, including Nepal, to Europe.

In the name of the United Nations, America is fermenting a conspiracy to destroy China by advocating ‘Free Tibet’ and for which they are making Nepal a base area. In Nepal, with respect to the one China policy, the King had closed Dalai Lama’s office in Nepal. Being furious with Nepal, America took the path of republic in Nepal. On the other hand, India with the consent of the US and the UN, helped in establishing the secular and so called federal republic of Nepal. China must not forget that the Nepalese monarch is the only guarantee for both China’s and Nepal’s security. The Nepalese monarchy had established itself as an institution fighting against imperialism. Therefore imperialistic powers have been making several conspiracies against the Nepalese monarchy. If a transit channel between Nepal and China exists, Nepal will largely benefit from this, for which, the railway being built in China must be used. The railway track which was built from Beijing to Lhasa has been operating since 2007. Now China must also mull over how it can benefit from the railway in terms of business expansion and identity here. China should extend its railway lines to Nepal and other South Asian nations, thus, and be able to counteract against the imperialist and colonialist nations, but at the same time establish friendly ties with peace loving nations like Nepal. The railway will also establish China as a bridge between the smaller nations of South Asia, including Nepal, and Europe. Nepal must also embark with internal and foreign support to build a highway from Taplejung to Darchula. Only then, Nepal will be able to recuperate its status as a beautiful, peaceful and great nation.
The construction of railways can also help a country to liberate itself from foreign intervention. After the railway from Lhasa to Kathmandu via Khasa is built, a railway line from Lhasa to Kerung must also be constructed. Trailing by the bank of the Bhramhaputra River, the distance from Lhasa to Kerung is almost 1000 kilometers. The distance from Kerung to Nepal’s Rasuwa is 20/22 kilometers. Following the line from Lhasa to Kerung, the distance from Laajya of Tibet to Kimathanka of Sankhuwasabha is 100-150 kilometers. The distance to Khasa following the same line is 50-75 kilometer. The distance from Khasa to Kathmandu via Tatopani is 120/130 kilometers. If the railway line is built along the bank of Trishuli River, the distance from Kerung Rasuwagadi to Bharatpur Gaidakot via Dhading is 300 kilometers. After the railway is built in Kerung, Rasuwa, Khasa, Tatopani and to Kimantha from Lajya of China, the areas will be developed. It is imperative to form a high level railway building committee between Nepal and China with a new package for transit.
If the railway line reaches Kerung, petroleum products can be brought from Kazakhstan and Russia, while gas can be purchased from Uzbekistan. Nepali products can be sold in the European nations and Russia.
Nepalese King Birendra and Bangladesi President Gen Zia Ul Rehman established the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) with the intension to prevent the interventions of India on small neighboring countries of Mr. Prasai- welcoming Dang Xiaoping in Nepal this region. But India with the support of SAARC is still trying to keep Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka under its control. This can not be tolerated. Regarding the matter, my clear viewpoint is ”Nepal should have courage to abandon the membership of SAARC and go ahead with the cooperation of China and other friendly countries. Nepal shall not sacrifice its self pride to India in the name of SAARC..”
Afghanistan has a transportation treaty with Iran, Pakistan and Russia. The same sort of treaty exists between Laos Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. Currently due to Trade and Transportation treaty, Nepal seems to be dependent on India. However as railways and its link ways will be expanded, Nepal’s contact with the rest of the world will be increased through the railway linkages with Pakistan and Bangladesh. As a result, Nepal will get rid of Indian intervention. Nepalese people are also always in favour of China.
The author had an opportunity to welcome Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping in Kathmandu in Feb 1977. Being impressed with his open minded ideas, we Nepalese were interested in the sustainable and liberal policy of China. During the visit of the Chinese leader, he had stated ‘Nepal is rich with its long history and culture. The Nepalese people love independence and freedom. Nepal has exhibited active contribution in the struggle against imperialism.” Like Nepal achieved integrated development within 10 years period under the leadership of King Mahendra, China developed unbelievably by adopting the sustainable open liberal policy under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping. But very sadly, the movement for Democracy disturbed this trend several times. But the revolutionary leaders couldn’t do anything for the country and democracy. The most unfortunate fact is that the majority of our political leaders (Congress ( Girija and his agents) UML (Madhab Nepal, Jhalanath, Bamdev) and Maoist ( Prachanda, Baburam Bhattarai, Narayan Kaji) are all Indian agents. It is worthless to expect anything from these leaders to save our nationality and independence.
In the present, the politics of Nepal has been corrupted. This is because the leaders, who were goonda and who looted the common people, joined politics. In the past, Congress leader Mr Girija hijacked an aero-plane, incited people to murder and printed fake bank notes in India. This led for the institutionalizing of corruption and kidnapping in the country. UML leaders too slaughtered many Nepalese people. The Maoists murdered 15000 common people and police and army personnel and also destroyed physical infrastructure of the country. They have not answered why they did this, even when they came to power. The Nepalese Communists, including the Maoist are getting lost by their confused and notorious activities. These are hated politicians as they have tried to grab the state power. It is useless for the Nepali people to have any hopes from such leaders who are destroying the unity symbols of Nepal viz. monarchy, Hindu kingdom, and Nepalese identities. Currently, there are traitors in Nepal. This is the right time when all nationalist powers- Nepalese people, nationalists of all parties, the court, security sources, national army, bureaucrats, labourers, peasants, and the King as well, be ready to make sacrifices in order to prevent the country from sinking.

  3. Dear Mr. Pradip !
I have been writing about Bhutanese Refugees from the very begging in Nepali & English. The Ezine group had declared me as a export writer at 2001. If you want to read my article you can open > http://www.newsblaze.comwww.nepalhorizons.com< and rearch- monthly- then you can read that article.

Now I am sending some point about Bhutanese Refugees.
In 1907 A.D, Devraj Pellop Wangchuk abolished the "Dharmaraja" system and started the Wangchuk dynasty, which was adopted forcefully with the conspiracy. No one can deny the greatest contribution of the Nepali Speaking Bhutanese people in the establishment of the Bhutan before the Wangchuk Dynasty and as well as helped the Wangchuk Dynasty then after. During this period, the East India Company had ruled India and didn't want Bhutan to maintain the Royal regime. Nepal had good relation with the British so in order to help the Nepalese Speaking Bhutanese and the Wangchuk Dynasty. The Nepalese Government helped in preparing a delegation committee including the Devraja Pellop Wangchuk and convinced the British to maintain the Institution of the Royal Dynasty in Bhutan. Chandra Samsher had good relationship with the British and it was through him that an understanding could be able to establish the relation with the Wangchuk dynasty in Bhutan and the British in India. But, it is a matter of great disappointment that such a historical event is forgotten through time and the Nepali Speaking Bhutanese from Bhutan were kicked out after the census of 1988 A.D.
The Nepali Speaking Bhutanese were ordered to either show proof of their residence prior to 1958 A.D. or be expelled. Later on, even those who produced such evidence were beaten up and forcefully expelled after burning up their documents. What injustice can exceed such a brutal out? Where were the people who talks about the Human Rights and the Justice? In 1971 when Bhutan became a member of the United Nations, its population was declared as one million and later in 1988 came to be only seven hundred thousand. This was a strategy to compel the Nepali Speaking Bhutanese People to leave forcefully from the country. If the United Nations seeks to investigate into the history of civilization in Bhutan then these facts can be verified.
The forcefully throwing out the Nepalese Speaking Bhutanese from the country will prove the brutality of the Crown of Bhutan and recently in India the former Bhutanese King Jigme Singhe Wangchuk told the media that not all Bhutanese refugees in Nepal are Bhutanese. This is a Perfect lie. Ignoring all realities, no one can trust such a tactic to label genuine Bhutanese citizens as illegitimate citizens. Such statement goes contrary to the interest of both Nepal and Bhutan and need reconsideration as soon as possible. The statement may set bad image of the King and the Kingdom in the international community.
Bhutan is considered as a Buddhist country but its actions against its own citizens by framing false court cases, inciting rape and expelling them out of their own country made it a cruel irony of the Buddhist religion. Nationalism is not surely a sentiment but also the right to live as human beings. Yet, when its citizens have been deprived of their own nationalism, how can Bhutan be considered as a nation? The Bhutanese refugee problem was almost on the verge of being resolved and had it not been for some of our diplomatic Mafia including then Ambassador to India and Bhutan, who secretly convinced with the Bhutanese by agreeing the mandatory adoption of the Jongkha language and the Kira (Tibetan dress) dress plus will be treated as the cheap labor.
Mr. Pushpa Raj Pradhan (Editor -Peoples Review) writes- 'Bhutan is an India protested state. The Indian desire is to make Nepal just like Bhutan.Untit the existence of the King in Nepal,India saw no chance of fulfilling her interests here. Therefore, the king was compelled to quite the Crown and the throne. In Bhutan, violation of human rights if very high. Its own citizens, living peacefully there for ages, were forced to leave the country. The king there is like the puppet of India and thus New Dehi has always shown high regards to the monarchy there. the new king in Bhutan will make no chance in internal as well as external affairs'. The Bhutan's sovereignty, this is a great question for U.N. Speaking truly, I also explain that this is not the bilateral problem between Nepal and Bhutan because of India-Bhutan treaty of 1949 AD (the Defense and Foreign Policy will be controlled by India). In order to solve the Bhutanese refugee problem, Nepal, Bhutan and India should make joint efforts. India cannot stand aloof from this problem as India's collaboration in engendering the problem is apparent in one way or other and it's for sure that the issue cannot be resolved without Indian consent.
It is well known to the Bhutanese King that the Nepalese Speaking Bhutanese people are faithful to the Wangchuk Dynasty. The book written by MR. Tek Nath Rijal "Nirvasan (Exiled)" also highlights the real situation of Bhutan. The fact is that Nepalese Speaking Bhutanese people always wanted to live in peace by maintaining good relation with the King. Since some time, the Bhutanese leader Mr. Tek Nath Rijal has been visiting various relevant centers in Europe and America and advocating the right of the Bhutanese refugees to return to their home country and the international communities are also showing sympathy for Mr. Rijal and the refugees.
Now, the United States of America came with a solution (rather a new problem), that is giving Refugee Visa to Sixty thousand Bhutanese Refugees staying in Nepal. Do they have any solution for rest of them? If the American Government, really wanted to help these people, why not they start talking about the real solution. The real solution is, sending all of them back home (Bhutan) with respect. All the intellectuals are confused, why American and Indian Governments never talk about Democracy and Humanity in Bhutan. Everybody knows that, it is very easy to create problems than solving it. The aforementioned points are not for creating problems, rather help to solve the problems. So, would like to suggest a quadrangular talk between Mr. Rijal, Bhutanese, Indian and American Diplomats and hope to come out with a real humanity based decision. This is the right time for all the developed countries to prove that, they still are in humanitarian platform.
Now, the new King Oxford-educated 28 -year-old Jigme Khesar has crowned in a coronation. This is his golden chance to solve the Bhutanese refugees problem. Without solving the refugee problem and talking the ceremony of coronation and about democracy is useless. Bhutanese King cannot turn deaf and hold on with such situation rather be flexible. Therefore, the new king should be in a position to recall the Nepalese Speaking Bhutanese citizen including Mr. Rijal back to their country without conditions so that they can settle down as they had been prior to 1988 A.D and these people are ready to accept all the terms and condition that the first citizen do have to follow. Let by-gone be by-gone. Now, if the Bhutanese new King Jegme Khesar himself would gather the facts and find out the reality and solve the long standing refugee problem, which would certainly, be a great success for Bhutan and the Bhutanese Royal institution. Looking forward to see prosperous Bhutan. '

I am sending another article about Bhutan in this online.
