(Oct.30) Nepal Police has arrested a Bhutanese refugee in connection with the robbery at the Damak branch of Laxmi Bank Limited. The arrested has been identified as Dakaman Bhujel,22, a resident of Beldangi-1 refugee camp, sector G, who was nabbed from the Beldangi Bus park, Damak on Friday.
The bank was robbed last year on May 4 by an unidentified gang of armed/masked robbers in broad day light taking the security guards and bank’s employees under control. All the robbers had fled the scene with the cash of 1.7 million rupees.
Following this incident, police had accelerated the search operation and eventually arrested three refugee youths who were involved in the robbery, with the looted amount. Daka Man and a few others had/have been in the top wanted list of the Jhapa district Police.
