22000 Bhutanese refugees resettled.

Nearly 22,000 Bhutanese refugees living in eastern Nepal have been resettled in the United States and other seven western countries in the past one and a half years, local media reported on Sunday.

According to United Nations High Commission for Refugee, among the 21,920 refugees from seven camps in Morang and Jhapa districts, 19,076 were resettled in the United States, 937 in Australia, 876 in Canada, 310 in Norway, 305 in Denmark, 294 in New Zealand and 122 in the Netherlands, reported myrepublica.com.

Some 107,000 Bhutanese refugees have been living in seven camps in eastern Nepal for 18 years, with some 80,000 of them having applied for resettlement in the Western countries including the United States.
